The Best Halloween Truffles….Ok, I have to share a bit of the truth here. I wasn’t the biggest fan of truffles, I know hate me, folks. Well, they reminded me of the cake pops that I loathe as a human being. I am just not a fan of cake pops, I like my cake with a fork. Although, these mummy balls were a hit in our house.
These are new to our household, but my boys found pure joy in these little guys. The magic of these mummy Halloween Truffles are these golden Oreos. You can use any oreo you’d like, but these are clear fans!!!
There are several types of cookies that you can choose for the truffles. I chose the Golden Oreos for the fact they roll really well, and they are a great cookie that holds itself together well. I love all types of cookies, and there are some truffle cookies out there that are good enough to create a decent truffle. Also, when creating these Halloween truffles you do not need to scrape out the icing in between the cookie. This will all work together for the good of the cookie, and its perfection.
These are nice cookies to use to make a cute light-hearted truffle with a light center. Sugar cookies can go either way, but if they are crunchy and dry the better the roll is for me. I find that the dryer the cookie the better the outcome is of the truffle. They have a wonderful texture, they roll well, and they dip confidently in white or dark chocolate.
Wow, these are such amazing-tasting cookies. They do an amazing job turning into the perfect truffle! These gingersnap truffles are a great addition to the holiday season. They give taste, texture, and also a perfect roll method. I love the sharpness, the bite, and the smell is OMG!
The chocolate oreo is also a really great cookie to use to make truffles. I find that these cookies hold up so well in the ball stage. These are honestly the traditional way that I have seen several recipes use chocolate cookies. Well, it’s okay to switch it up a little bit and use the Golden Oreos.
Well, I honestly thought that this recipe was out of my reach with not being an owner of a food processor. Well, I think my Ninja blender did a pretty awesome job grinding up my Golden Oreos with cream cheese. Food processor mini, or big, the blender will work just fine. Don’t get torn with buying extra equipment to pull off these Halloween Truffle Cookies.
I have looked at a ton of the truffle cookie recipes, and they are both on the fence about the freezer or not. I have seen some recipes say “NO” to freezing them. There are others who feel as though that you should so they don’t fold too much under pressure. My experience with them being room temperature is that they move too much to my taste. I decided to put them into the freezer for at least 2 hours, and they behaved so much better.
I think these are the cutest mummy guys I have ever seen. They fit the bill for the cuteness, taste, and sweet eyes. My family loved the taste more than ever, and I guess that is what is most important. These are a first for me in seasonal food photography but I love them so much! I know what I am most excited about is this Halloween Charcuterie Board. This board is the cutest thing and does have a few tricks.
